Four Tier Structure

The External Partnerships program of the Texas A&M Energy Institute is open to all industry, foundation, and government organizations that have interest in energy. External Partners are invited to all events organized by the Texas A&M Energy Institute including the Annual Research Conferences, and receive all publications. The External Partnerships program of the Texas A&M Energy Institute is supported by membership fees, and has the following four-tier structure:

Founding Partner Program

Support is provided for (a) major energy projects of interest to the Founding Partner, (b) early-stage research projects, (c) educational initiatives, and (d) a multitude of named Energy Fellows selected among graduate students and post-doctoral associates each year. Founding Partners have (i) a permanent position in the Advisory Board of the Texas A&M Energy Institute, (ii) two researchers in the visitor-in residence program, and (iii) royalty-free commercial license for intellectual property derived from separately funded research.

Charter Partner Program

Support is provided for (a) energy projects of special interest to the Charter Partner, (b) early-stage research projects, and (c) two-graduate students named as Energy Fellows each year. Charter Partners have (i) a rotating position in the Advisory Board of the Texas A&M Energy Institute, and (ii) one researcher in the visitor-in residence program.

General Partner Program

Support is provided for (a) selected energy research and education activities, and (b) a named Energy Fellow each year.

Affiliate Partner Program

Support is provided as discretionary funds that advance the goals of the Texas A&M Energy Institute and include student activities and student-oriented programs.
