Residence Hall Challenge Rules
- All participants of the Residence Hall Challenge are requipred to abide by all policies stated in the
Residence Hall Handbook. A Hall's partiicpation in the Challenge does not supersede the standard and safe operation of the Hall.
- Infractions of these rules are to be handled by the Hall Director on a case-by-case basis, as normal. Multiple infractions will result in a penalty to the Hall. For
the first infraction, 50 kilowatt hours will be added to the hall electrical usage
total. The number of hours will double for subsequent infraction.
- Participants may not turn off, remove the light bulbs of, or otherwise disable electronic devices that are necessary for the standard and safe opeation of the Hall. Examples include hallway lights, fire/emergency lights, exit signs, and smoke detectors.
- Participants may not utilize the laundry rooms or other facilities of halls that they do not reside in. A Hall's laundry facilities are for the use of that Hall's residents only.
- Participants may not utilize candles for any purpose.
- Study lounge and study carrel lights may only be turned off with the agreement of all residents utilizing the lounge/carrel.
- Windows may not be opened.
