Energy Institute Researchers Develop Energy Price Index to Calculate the Average Price of Energy
In a recent study published in the journal Nature Communications, researchers at the Texas A&M Energy Institute have devised a metric that reflects the average price of energy in the United States. Much like how the Dow index indicates trends in stock market prices, the researchers’ metric reflects the changes in energy prices resulting from the type of energy sources available and their supply chains.
Energy Institute Experts Offer Preliminary Analysis of the Effect of Historic Winter Storm on Texas’ Power Grid
In an opinion article published today in the Houston Chronicle and titled, “Opinion: What went wrong with Texas’s power failure and how to fix it,” Energy Institute Faculty Affiliates Le Xie, Mark Barteau, Chanan Singh, and Efstratios Pistikopoulos share “several key factors may have contributed to this historic power outage.”
